A fine luxury silver mounted hunting rifle c 1835 by Morgenroth in Gernrode with finely carved mounts decorated with hunting animals. Butt with chin rest carved with foliate, chequered neck, carved lock marked MORGENROTH IN GERNRODE, finely carved hammer with a monsters head, spring-operated safety, c 86 cm long two-stage barrel in calibre c 15,5 cm marked as the lock in silver and decorated with a hare in silver above the powder chamber. Wooden ramrod with bullet screw held by three silver pipes.

The iron dark and spotted. The rifling weak.
